After serving as volunteer Cougar sports consultant for the last five years I have decided its time to devote more time to organizing my baseball card and music collection as well as possibly writing a book on the history of sports in the local area. I plan to continue to serve as public address announcer for LCC as well as some Lsssen High sports teams for at least another year as well as keeping active with my karaoke singing.
This season the Golden Valley Conference was one of the toughest leagues in Northern California and the Lady Cougars certainly found that out. Once again College of the Siskiyous was the dominant team going unbeaten at 20-0 (45-3 overall) with Shasta right behind at 15-5 (32-15).
Despite losing more than twice as many games as it won, LCC's freshmen-laden baseball team ended its season on a positive note winning two of three games from the second place Shasta College Knights. Another bright note for the Cougars is that they had the Golden Valley Conference's leading hitter, Zack Garcia, who was named to the all-GVC first team.
